The Coffee Collective presents La Pomarosa as a coffee that slows you down and lets you focus on every detail in the cup. This variety is known for its elegance, and that holds true here twice over—the flavor is delicate and tea-like, yet beautifully juicy. The profile blends notes of dark forest fruits, citrus freshness, and a light sweetness that ties the whole cup together. It feels light, but it’s definitely not simple—it’s more like a layered experience that gradually unfolds and compels you to slow down.

Behind this coffee is the La Pomarosa farm in Peru’s Cajamarca region, where it is grown by Nancy Mendoza and her family. The farm is small, but all the more emphasis is placed here on quality and attention to detail. The high altitude and meticulous work throughout the year create ideal conditions for growing Gesha, which is demanding in itself but, with the right approach, can offer a truly exceptional cup. The family-run approach is evident here; nothing is rushed, and every decision has a clear goal: to get the best out of the coffee.

Processing is done using the washed method, which allows the natural purity and structure of this coffee to shine through. After harvest, the cherries are pulped and then undergo a carefully controlled process aimed at preserving their delicacy and balance. Drying takes place slowly so that the beans maintain their stability and lose none of their complexity. As a result, the final cup is very clear, and the individual flavors gradually unfold, building on one another to create a harmonious whole that you’ll enjoy from the first sip to the last.
