The Coffee Collective, the Copenhagen roaster behind this exceptional coffee, prides itself on its ability to select and roast the finest coffees from around the world. KIENI is a coffee from Kenya that will enchant you with its sweetness and full body, with unique notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and rhubarb. This selection is known for its intense fruity flavor and fresh acidity, making it an unforgettable experience for all lovers of specialty coffee. Kieni coffee is the result of careful selection and roasting, which preserves its natural characteristics and provides a perfect balance of flavors.

The Kieni farm, where this coffee was grown, is located in the Nyeri region of Kenya. The farm is managed by the Kieni cooperative, which brings together 1,000 small farmers and is run by Josphat Kariuki. The farm is located at an altitude of 1,818 meters, which provides ideal conditions for growing high-quality coffee. The Kieni Cooperative has been a partner of the roastery since 2010, and during this time, Kieni coffee has become one of the best coffees on offer. Thanks to careful selection and a long-term partnership between the cooperative and the roastery, it has been possible to achieve an incredibly high quality of coffee.

The processing of this coffee is the key to its exceptional flavor. Kieni coffee undergoes a traditional washed process that emphasizes its purity and fruity tones. After harvesting, which takes place from November to December, the coffee cherries are carefully selected and fermented, allowing the rich flavors and aromas to stand out. Thanks to the transparent business approach of the roaster, which pays the Kieni cooperative a bonus of 113% above the market price, financial stability for farmers and the consistently high quality of this exceptional coffee are ensured.

  • Altitude: 1818m above sea level.
