Kirinyaga AA from the Czech roastery Father's Coffee Roastery is a clean and juicy coffee from Kenya. In the cup , fresh fruitiness meets delicate floral notes and a sweeter finish reminiscent of currant jam. The pronounced acidity evokes rhubarb pie, while notes of rose lend the profile elegance and lightness. The result is a lively, aromatic, and well-defined coffee that showcases the typical character of specialty coffees from the Kirinyaga region.
The coffee comes from the Nguguini Wet Mill in the Karatina region, which operates under the Kibirigwi Farmers’ Cooperative Society Limited. The mill works with more than 1,200 smallholder farmers who grow coffee at an elevation of approximately 1, 600 to 1,700 meters. The lot consists of the SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11 varieties, whose combination delivers sweetness, a fuller body, balanced acidity, and the hardiness of the coffee plants. Kirinyaga AA is suitable for all types of pour-over brewing, whether you choose a V60, Solo Dripper, AeroPress, Chemex, French press, or Clever Dripper. When brewing, expect a fresh and juicy cup with pronounced fruity acidity, a floral aroma, and a sweet aftertaste.
After the ripe cherries are hand-harvested, they undergo washed processing, during which the beans are hulled, sorted by density, fermented, thoroughly washed, and then dried on raised beds. It is precisely this process that enhances the coffee’s clarity, bright acidity, and well-defined flavor notes.
