Father’s Coffee Roastery presents an espresso from Huabal, Peru, that captivates with its clean and pleasantly sweet flavor profile. In the cup, the delicate nuttiness of macadamia nuts meets the sweet flavor of cherries and a floral hint of chamomile tea. The coffee is a blend of Caturra and Pache varieties, and thanks to its balanced body and pleasant fruity acidity, it offers an elegant espresso that works well in both traditional and automatic coffee machines.
Huabal is a high-altitude district in the province of Jaén, where small farming communities are scattered among the steep Andean ridges and humid valleys. Local family farms typically cover less than two hectares. The coffee is transported in parchment to the Falcon Coffees Peru warehouse in Jaén, which has been working directly with growers from the northern production regions since 2019. The company provides farmers with training and agronomic support and pays them premiums above local purchase prices for higher-quality coffee.
This lot was processed using the washed method, which is typical for coffees from Huabalu. A pronounced dry season from July to September helps ensure uniform drying of the coffee. Individual small shipments are then sent to the Falcon Coffees Peru warehouse, where they undergo physical inspection and sensory evaluation. If their volumes and flavor profiles match, they are combined into lots from individual producers or entire community groups and then prepared for parchment removal and export. Rigorous quality control helps preserve the coffee’s clean and sweet character.
