These beans of the traditional Ethiopian Heirloom variety come from the renowned Lalesa growing region, located in the famous Gedeb area within the Gedeo zone. This specific location ranks among the very best coffee-growing regions in all of Ethiopia. The area is well known worldwide for its exceptionally dense and layered semi-forest vegetation. It is precisely the shade provided by the surrounding majestic trees that offers coffee plants absolutely ideal conditions for slow ripening and absorbing nutrients from the local fertile soil.
After the ripest cherries were carefully hand-picked, this harvest underwent the classic washed processing method. This traditional method is highly prized for its ability to fully reveal the natural and vibrant character of the beans themselves. After the outer skin is mechanically removed, the beans are thoroughly washed in clean water, which completely removes any remaining pulp.
