Father's Coffee Roastery offers decaffeinated coffee that surprises with its liveliness and full flavor. The cup develops notes of orange cake, cane sugar, and white tea, which together create a harmonious and refreshing profile. The coffee has a delicate body, a slightly citrusy character, and a long, sweet finish. It is perfect for evening rituals when you want to enjoy a cup of coffee without worrying about insomnia. The name Atunkaa, which comes from the Wayuunaiki language, means "sleep and sleepy dreams."

This coffee comes from Siruma Coffee, which brings together farmers from the Cauca, Caldas, and Tolima regions. Siruma was founded with the aim of helping smaller communities export their specialty coffee and promoting fair conditions for growers. The project has a strong social dimension, combining the traditional knowledge of local producers with a modern approach to transparent trade. Atunkaa coffee is grown in the Río Sucio area of the Caldas region, at an altitude of 1600-2000 meters above sea level, where the Castillo and Colombia varieties thrive.

This washed coffee is decaffeinated using a natural process called Sugar Cane Decaf, which uses ethyl acetate obtained from fermented sugar cane. The beans are first steamed to open their structure and then repeatedly washed in a solution that gently removes the caffeine without negatively affecting the flavor. This allows the coffee to retain its natural sweetness and aroma. The result is a balanced, clean, and fragrant cup that will delight even those who don't usually reach for decaffeinated coffee.

Not terrible, just not special
I bought it because of high reviews here, but it was “just another decaf” in my experience
Too dark roasted, clear decaf taste
Nowadays there are such good decafs coming up, you wouldn’t know they don’t have caffeine. I’d rather splurge a few extra bucks on those than getting another bag of coffee that just tastes like a generic decaf

Decaf not really noticeable
Taste is a bit spicy, not really a con but if you like fruity light roasts this is probably not for you
