This juicy coffee from Colombia, roasted by the Norwegian roaster Kokko Coffee Roasters, is just the thing for citrus lovers. The co-fermentation with kumquats has turned this coffee into a vibrant experience with flavors of lime, orange candies, and coconut, rounded out by a subtle vanilla aroma on the finish. The citrus freshness blends in the cup with the sweetness of coconut and vanilla, making this coffee a unique experience ideal for warmer days.

The coffee comes from the Colombian farm Finca Monteblanco, located in the Huila region. Its elevation of 1,700 meters above sea level makes it ideal for growing varieties such as Gesha, Purple Caturra, and Pink Bourbon. The farm is owned by Rodrigo Sanches Valencia, who took over the farm from his grandfather and decided to continue developing it. Currently, he focuses on both unique varieties and unconventional processing methods such as co-fermentation and cold fermentation.

During processing, the coffee cherries are thoroughly sorted; unripe, overripe, diseased, or damaged cherries are separated from the ripe ones. The cherries are then co-fermented with kumquats for several hours at a constant temperature, during which they acquire their sweetness and fruity aroma. After fermentation, the cherries are thoroughly washed and then dried for at least two weeks. The resulting coffee carries the sweetness of orange candies and vanilla, as well as a zesty note of limes and kumquats.
