Dizzy Lime from Amsterdam-based DAK Coffee Roasters is a Costa Rican filter coffee that plays with herbal freshness, citrusy energy, and subtle floral notes. In the cup, you’ll find eucalyptus, lime, and lavender, so expect a clean, aromatic, and slightly unconventional profile. This is a coffee for anyone who enjoys cups with a distinct character but also appreciates when the experiment remains elegant. Lime brings a fresh citrus kick, eucalyptus adds a cooling herbal note, and lavender softens the entire profile into a fragrant, slightly floral finish.

The coffee comes from Costa Rica, specifically the Turrialba region, from the Aquiares Estate. Behind this lot is Diego Robelo, who has long been dedicated to high-quality production and meticulous processing on the farm. Aquiares is one of Costa Rica’s standout farms, capable of combining larger-scale production with traceability, innovation, and a focus on quality. The coffee trees grow at an elevation of around 1,200 meters above sea level, and this particular lot originated as a small-scale experiment, of which only a limited quantity is available.

The variety is Centroamericano, a hybrid composed of the Sarchimor T-5296 and Sudan Rume lines. It is processed using the washed method, but with one additional, unconventional step. During fermentation, Diego Robelo added eucalyptus hydrosol—a delicate eucalyptus extract—to the tanks, which imparted a herbal character to the coffee. The rest of the process followed the traditional washed method, so the resulting cup remains clean, fresh, and well-defined. Thanks to this, the eucalyptus doesn’t come across as heavy or overpowering, but rather as a cooling, aromatic detail that blends beautifully with notes of lime and a lavender finish.
