This beautifully sweet single-origin coffee from the Norwegian roaster Kokko Coffee Roasters has arrived from El Salvador. In the cup, you’ll immediately be greeted by notes of black tea and juicy plums, followed by the sweetness of raisins, caramel, and cocoa. The tea-like character lends the coffee a pleasant lightness, while the plum brings a juicy fruitiness. The caramel and cocoa sweetness then beautifully rounds out the flavor. The result is a harmonious and pleasantly complex cup, in which the individual flavors complement each other beautifully to create a balanced flavor profile.

The coffee comes from the Cuscatlán region in El Salvador, where coffee trees grow at an elevation of 1, 580 meters. This lot features two varietiesBourbon and Catuai. Their combination, along with the conditions in which the coffee trees grow, is reflected in the character of the resulting cup. The coffee is well-balanced and sweet, while retaining a pleasant fruitiness. If you enjoy cups of coffee that aren’t entirely straightforward but also don’t feel overly complex, this coffee will definitely not disappoint you. Moreover, its flavor evolves pleasantly with every sip.

The natural processing method also contributes to its distinct sweetness and fruity character. In this process, the coffee cherries are processed with the pulp intact, which enhances their sweetness and fruitiness. In this lot, it beautifully complements notes of plums and raisins, while caramel and cocoa add a pleasantly sweet undertone. Black tea lightens the entire cup and lends it an elegant character. The result is a sweet, harmonious, and pleasantly complex coffee that is definitely worth trying.
