Costa Rica Catajo Geisha Blend by KAFFA is a Costa Rican coffee with a highly aromatic, sweet, and fruity-floral profile. In the cup , coffee blossom, raisin, raspberry, ripe cherry, and cocoa come together, creating a flavor that is elegant, juicy, and pleasantly layered. The fruitiness here isn’t one-dimensional. It has a sweeter note of ripe fruit, a delicate floral undertone, and a cocoa finish that adds roundness to the cup. It’s a filter coffee that calls for a slower, more leisurely enjoyment and showcases the gentler, more fragrant side of Costa Rica.

The coffee comes from Costa Rica, from the San Guillermo Tarrazú region, specifically from the Catajo farm in the Mirazú area. Hector Esteban Sanchez and Dinia Monge Badilla are behind its cultivation. The lot grows at an altitude of 1,500 to 1,700 meters and consists of a Geisha Blend. It is precisely the combination of high altitude, the specific farm, and the distinctly aromatic variety that gives this coffee its clean, sweet, and very distinct character.

The beans wereprocessed using theRaisin Honey method. This method is based on the honey process, in which, after the husk is removed, a portion of the pulp and mucilage is left on the bean. The term “Raisin” refers to the emphasis on slower and carefully controlled drying, during which the higher concentration of sugars in the pulp is utilized. It is precisely the drying process that has a fundamental influence on the final character of the coffee and requires strict control of conditions to prevent unwanted fermentation or uneven drying. The result is a lot that clearly demonstrates the potential of the Catajo farm and the producers’ meticulous approach to each step of processing.
