Treat yourself to some well-deserved luxury and discover the mysterious charm of a variety that the entire coffee world now reveres. This select Geisha from the Hacienda San Isidro farm reveals an incredibly rich profile with a literally intoxicating aroma when brewed with a filter. Producer Johel Monge has prepared a masterpiece for you that stands out for its absolute elegance. In the cup, you’ll discover a delicate blend of sweet yellow peaches and refreshing exotic kumquats. This fruity harmony is further enhanced by a subtle hint of rose petals and fragrant jasmine. It is an incredibly precise and refined coffee that offers the absolute best of current global production and is guaranteed to banish any boredom from your daily coffee routine.

The family-run Hacienda San Isidro project is located in the famous Tarrazú region of Costa Rica, at an impressive altitude of 2,100 meters. The local conditions ensure a slower ripening of the coffee cherries, thanks to which the beans acquire much higher density and a complex flavor profile. Thirty-five experienced pickers tend to 50,000 coffee bushes, hand-selecting only the ripest fruits. The farm, now successfully run by the third generation of the family, has weathered historic market downturns and continues to invest in quality. These efforts culminated in winning first place in the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition. Ecological balance is also part of the farm’s philosophy. Shade trees protect the fertile soil, naturally regulate temperature and sunlight, and significantly support local biodiversity.

The purity and immense sweetness of this lot are the result of the traditional honey method. Producer Johel Monge built his own processing facility right on the farm. This step allowed him to gain absolute control over the entire process and thus ensure completely consistent quality. Immediately after careful harvesting, the rare Geisha variety is stripped of its outer skin, but some of the sticky, sugar-rich pulp remains on the bean even during the subsequent slow drying process. This demanding procedure results in a much cleaner beverage than the classic natural processing method, while still safely preserving a pleasant and deep sweetness. The result is a harmonious and highly prized cup of coffee that perfectly reflects the unique character of its place of origin.

In my opinion, the beans are overroasted. There’s an unnecessary bitterness in the cup, and the floral and fruity notes are in the background. I’ve tried various recipes, but unfortunately… I can only detect minimal differences in taste between using filtered water and baby water.
