Floral, juicy, and with a hint of lime—that’s this Nicaraguan coffee from Kmen Coffee Roasters. In the cup, white nectarines, key lime, jasmine green tea, and golden kiwi come together, giving the coffee a sweet, fragrant, and very elegant character. Jasmine tea brings a delicate floral note, white nectarines and golden kiwi add juicy fruitiness, and key lime pie brightens the entire profile with a fresh lime note. This is a premium pour-over coffee with a distinct Geisha character, showcasing the fruity and aromatic side of Nicaragua in a very clean and playful way.
The coffee comes from the family-owned Finca Élite farm in the Mozonte area of the Nueva Segovia region, specifically in the Dipilto-Jalapa mountain range. The farm is located at an elevation of 1,450 to 1,650 meters above sea level and is run by producer Olman Uriel Salceda Chavez, an experienced cupper from a second-generation Nicaraguan coffee-growing family. The brand presents this coffee as a lot from the most recent winner of the Cup of Excellence Nicaragua, which fits well with the farm’s story—one focused on experimenting with exceptional varieties and exploring their potential under local conditions.
The variety used is Geisha from a new planting at Finca Élite, and the beans were processed using the natural method. The farm grows a wide collection of exotic varieties, including Chiroso, Sidra, Pink Bourbon, SL28, Laurina, Batian, Casiopea, and Ethiopian varieties, alongside more traditional Nicaraguan varieties such as Pacamara, Maracaturra, and Catuai. The natural processing of this Geisha helps enhance its sweetness, fruitiness, and more pronounced aromatics without the coffee losing its elegance. The result is a rare and highly fragrant filter coffee that delights with its juiciness, floral notes, and a fresh lime aftertaste.
