The Naughty Dog roastery’s limited-edition fall release, Ethiopia Negele Gorbitu, is a sweet and fragrant Ethiopian coffee that pairs beautifully with leisurely fall mornings and afternoon pour-over brews. In the cup, you’ll find notes of orange lollipop, cranberries, nougat, and a finish reminiscent of orange wine. Expect medium acidity, pronounced fruity sweetness, and a gently playful character that isn’t overly wild but definitely has something to offer. The orange notes bring juiciness and a sweet citrus tone, the cranberries add fruitiness, the nougat rounds out the entire profile, and the finish with a hint of orange wine adds an interesting depth to the coffee.

The coffee comes from Ethiopia, specifically the Yirgacheffe Gedeb region, which is among the most renowned areas for specialty coffee in the entire country. The coffee cherries were processed at the Gedeb Gotiti station, located at a high elevation with a suitable microclimate and a long tradition of coffee cultivation. The coffee trees grow at an elevation of 1,995 to 2,020 meters above sea level, where the cherries ripen more slowly and develop a higher concentration of sweetness and aroma. It is precisely this combination of origin, elevation, and meticulous harvesting that gives the coffee its clean fruitiness, juiciness, and typical Ethiopian elegance.

In terms of varieties, it is a blend of Kurume, Dega, and Wolisho—local Ethiopian varieties that possess great genetic diversity. Thanks to them, the coffee offers fruity, floral, and sweetly spicy notes all in one cup. The processing method is dry, or natural. In this process, ripe coffee cherries are dried whole, including the pulp, which results in a sweeter flavor, fuller fruitiness, and a softer texture
