Ethiopia Buture is a washed coffee designed for espresso, with a sweet, clean, and lively profile from The Naughty Dog roastery. In the cup, flavors of orange candies and caramel fudge come together with a hint of dark chocolate. The acidity is higher, giving the coffee a fresh and juicy character, while the sweetness keeps it pleasantly rounded. The fruity citrus notes gradually blend with a more caramel-like impression, and the finish transitions into a deeper chocolate note. A great choice for those seeking the perfect harmony between vibrant fruitiness and rich sweetness in their espresso.
The coffee comes from Ethiopia’s Jimma region and was processed at the Buture station. The coffee trees grow at an elevation of 1,900 to 2,200 meters above sea level, where they ripen under conditions ideal for a clean and distinctive profile. The lot consists of native Ethiopian varieties , including varieties 74110 and 74112. The harvest took place in January 2026, making this a very fresh crop with a distinctly recognizable aroma. Its Jimma origin, combined with the high altitude, allows the coffee to develop sweetness, freshness, and a more elegant structure.
The coffee is processed using the washed method. In this process, after harvesting, the skin and pulp are removed from the coffee cherries; the beans are then washed with water and dried to the desired moisture content. The washed processing method helps maintain a clean and precise flavor profile, as it focuses primarily on the character of the bean itself and its origin. The result is a coffee with a clear structure, featuring higher acidity, sweetness, and a distinct finish without any heavy fermentation notes.
