September Coffee is a micro-roastery based in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. It was founded by two people who decided to trade their previous lives for something that truly fulfills them, and this is evident in every roast. Their goal is to select coffees that bring a smile, spark a conversation, or simply pique your curiosity, while also providing you with everything you need to know about their origin. September Coffee strives to build direct relationships with growers, and when that isn’t possible, they work exclusively with trusted importers who share the same values.
Behind September Coffee are the two founders— Natasha and Kyle. Their path to coffee isn’t exactly traditional, and that’s what makes their story so interesting. Before founding the roastery, Kyle focused on education and creating content about coffee on YouTube, social media, and his blog, so he knows the coffee world inside out. Natasha spent a long time competing in dance. Before the roastery was founded, they worked as pastors. Then they made a bold decision together to leave their previous careers and build a roastery in Ottawa, Canada, that reflects their coffee knowledge, shared love for coffee, and natural talent for storytelling.
For Natasha and Kyle, every roast at September Coffee is a way to pay tribute to the farmers and producers behind every bean. They roast on a Loring S15 Falcon machine, and their goal is to achieve maximum clarity in the cup so that the natural sweetness and lively acidity of each coffee can truly shine. Their coffees are light, fresh, and silky smooth on the palate. They divide their roasting approach into several lines: the Shower Series for those seeking light and bright cups full of fruity notes, and the Storm Series for coffee lovers who prefer a fuller body and a more modern approach to roasting.
