Are you in the mood for a coffee that’s juicy, fruity, and sweet at the same time? Then don’t miss out on MULLUGETA MUNTASHA coffee from the Canadian roaster September! In the cup, you’ll detect the sweetness of yellow plums, complemented by notes of red berries reminiscent of strawberries, while the entire profile is balanced by delicate and fresh citrus notes of mandarin oranges. The coffee feels light and lively, with a delicate body and a pleasant jam-like character that keeps it beautifully sweet despite its freshness.

Mullugeta Muntasha comes from the Sidama region of Ethiopia. This lot is sourced by the producer of the same name, who works with coffee from approximately 600 small-scale farmers in the Arbegona area. The coffee trees here grow at a high elevation of around 2 ,230 meters above sea level, which contributes to slower ripening of the cherries and creates ideal conditions for producing complex and distinctly fruity coffees.  Since 2021, Mullugeta has been processing coffee at his own processing station, Dawencho. As part of a group of local farmers, he won 2nd place in the Cup of Excellence competition, and under his own name, he placed 6th. In 2022, four of his lots made it into the top ten of the Cup of Excellence.

The coffee is made from the Ethiopian variety 74158, which was selected by the JARC research center for its high yield and disease resistance. This lot underwent natural processing, in which ripe cherries are sorted after harvest and dried whole—that is, with both the skin and pulp intact. Only after drying are the dried parts of the fruit removed. This processing method helps highlight the sweetness, body, and jam-like fruitiness of the resulting cup.
