Colombia Rodrigo Oyuela from Gust Coffee Roasters is a Colombian coffee designed for pour-over brewing, with a clean, lively, and fruity-sweet profile. In the cup, notes of grenadine syrup, candied red currants, apple crumble, and caramelized sugar come together. Red fruits bring juiciness and a brighter start, while a delicate, tea-like structure keeps the flavor elegant and well-defined. The finish is sweet and comforting, like an apple dessert with a hint of caramel.

The coffee comes from Colombia, specifically the Chaparral area in the Tolima region, where it is grown by Rodrigo Oyuela. His Villamaria farm is located at an elevation of 1,800 meters, and this lot consists of the Pink Bourbon variety, whose beans originate from Aceveda in Huila. Rodrigo is known in the Cañón de las Hermosas area as a skilled grower and a prominent figure in the local coffee community. He has been involved with coffee since childhood and works on the farm alongside his family. The entire property spans 33.5 hectares, 8 of which are planted with coffee trees. A total of approximately 38,000 trees grow here, primarily of the Pink Bourbon, Castillo, and Colombia varieties.

The coffee is processed using the washed method. In this process, after harvest, the skin and pulp are removed from the coffee cherries so that the beans can undergo a cleaner and more controlled processing. The coffee is then washed with water and dried to the desired moisture content. The washed method is suitable for coffees where precision, a clear structure, and the distinct character of the variety and its origin are meant to shine through. For this lot, the processing focuses primarily on purity and clarity, without any pronounced fermentation notes.
