El Salvador FINCA LOS ANGELES from the Belgian roastery Gust Coffee Roaster is an espresso that beautifully showcases just how elegant yet distinctive the Pacamara variety can be. In the cup, you’ll find a full-bodied, rounded flavor with pleasantly balanced acidity. Notes of stewed cherries and raisins dominate, complemented by a smooth almond butter undertone. The profile is rounded out by a delicate aftertaste of lime and Darjeeling tea, which lends the coffee a lightness and pleasant freshness. The result is a harmonious espresso with a rich body that retains both its sweetness and complexity, tasting great on its own or with milk.

The coffee comes from Finca Los Angeles in the Apaneca area of the Ahuachapán region in El Salvador, where it is grown at an elevation of 1 ,350 meters above sea level by a team led by agronomist Sigfredo Corado of the Fincas Los Naranjos group. The farm is planted exclusively with the Pacamara variety, which was developed in El Salvador by crossing the Pacas and Maragogype varieties and is renowned for its large cherries and rich aromatic profile. The farm is managed with an emphasis on sustainability—the coffee trees grow in the shade of native trees, the soil is naturally enriched with organic matter, and no herbicides are used during cultivation. Finca Los Angeles is also part of the Renacer program, which supports local producers in improving agricultural practices and ensuring long-term care for the landscape.

The lot was processed using the washed method, which allows the purity and natural character of the Pacamara variety to shine through. After harvest, the cherries are pulped, fermented, then washed with clean water and slowly dried to ensure the beans retain their quality and flavor complexity. Thanks to this processing method, the resulting cup is beautifully defined, with clearly distinct individual notes. The sweetness of stewed cherries and raisins gradually blends with creamy almond butter, while lime and Darjeeling tea provide an elegant, refreshing finish.
