Want to enjoy great coffee in the evening without worrying about a sleepless night? Then this decaffeinated Colombia from Oh My Bean Roastery is the perfect choice. You'll be greeted by the delicate sweetness of panela, a light touch of fresh apples, and a pleasant almond tone. The flavor is balanced, with a creamy texture and natural character that you might not expect from decaffeinated coffee. Thanks to gentle processing, it retains its freshness and delicate fruitiness, so it tastes great both as an espresso and as a filter coffee.
Behind this coffee are 75 women growers from the Asomujer association in the Timaná area in the south of the Huila region of Colombia. The association was founded in 2007, when a group of women decided to grow coffee according to their own rules and with greater independence. Today, they have access to fair trade, modern technology, and agronomic education, which not only improves the quality of their coffee but also their economic stability. Their partnership with Cafe Imports ensures export and connects local women farmers with roasters around the world.
Caffeine is removed from this coffee after washing using the natural Sugarcane Decaf method . Sugar cane is processed into ethyl acetate, an organic compound that binds to caffeine and gently removes it from the beans. Unlike chemical processes, this method preserves the natural cell structure and flavor of the coffee, resulting in a clean, sweet cup without the typical "paper" taste often found in decaffeinated coffees.
