Coffee with alcohol flavors is quite the combination. That’s why we enthusiastically dove into a joint project with Kofiem. We love experimenting and coming up with new things, and barrel-aged coffee was a big unknown for us, but we were also very curious about how coffee stored in barrels would turn out.

We bought a barrel from a Czech whiskey producer, which had been used in the distillery for several years. It was originally purchased all the way from Tennessee, where whiskey Jack Daniels was aged in it. And it’s incredibly aromatic.


We tested various coffees for you and different lengths of "aging" in the barrel. In the end, we chose washed Ethiopian coffee, which we left to age in the barrel for several days. We wanted to bring out the distinct whiskey flavor while ensuring that the Ethiopia didn’t lose its characteristic features and that the alcohol flavor wouldn’t overpower it. In the coffee, you can taste hints of caramel, chocolate, and forest fruits, followed by floral notes, and in the aftertaste, there’s a pleasant whiskey finish. When you let the coffee cool a little, the alcohol notes become more pronounced.

But don't worry, the coffee does not contain any alcohol.

Good day, Petra. Coffee roasted on October 28, 2025 will be at its best for about three months after roasting, ideally until the end of January 2026. However, a lot depends on how you store it. If it is already open, we recommend storing it in an airtight or vacuum container, away from light and heat, so that it retains its full flavor and aroma for as long as possible. You can also store it in the freezer to ensure a longer shelf life. Have a nice day! :)
