We’re pleased to introduce Panama Bonita Springs coffee from the Budějovice-based roastery Kmen Coffee Roasters, which is making a comeback following its success last year. This coffee is the perfect choice for espresso lovers seeking a fresh, fruity, yet creamy cup. The flavor profile combines the delicate acidity of juicy wild blackberries with decadent chocolate cookies and the creaminess of cherry panna cotta. This combination of flavors will captivate you with its intensity from the very first whiff, and once you finish your cup, you’ll want to brew another one right away.
The beans come from the renowned Finca Bonita Springs farm in the Boquete Valley in the province of Chiriquí. The Miró family has managed this farm for over 80 years, and in 2017, Arturo and Olmedo Miró built a modern processing plant there. The 20-hectare farm benefits from a unique microclimate influenced by two rivers, waterfalls, and five springs. This batch consists of the Caturra variety, which grows in the shade of ancient orange and lemon trees, giving the coffee its characteristic citrus undertones. The owners place great emphasis on social programs for local workers and overall sustainability.
The coffee was processed using the traditional natural method, which highlights its natural sweetness and full body. Whole cherries are dried at the farm’s own facility after harvesting, giving producers complete control over the fermentation process. It is precisely this dry processing, combined with the unique terroir of the Chiriquí region, that accounts for the distinctive fruity flavor and creamy texture, which leaves a long-lasting and pleasant aftertaste on the tongue.
