Moonlight Espresso Blend from Brussels-based Boo! features a sweet, full-bodied, and dessert-like flavor profile. In the cup, it evokes chocolate fondant, rich molasses, and sweet caramelized pecans. Chocolate forms a richer base, molasses adds a deeper sweetness, and pecans contribute a pleasant nutty character. The result is a well-rounded and full-bodied espresso without pronounced fruity acidity, which will particularly delight lovers of classic, sweeter profiles. Thanks to its intensity, it holds its own even when combined with milk, where the chocolate and caramel notes come out even more.

The blend combines coffees from Brazil and Indonesia. The Brazilian portion comes from the Minas Gerais region and is sourced from the producer Daterra, while the Indonesian component comes from the Aceh region and is associated with the Lalesa Washing Station. Coffee trees in Brazil grow at altitudes of approximately 900 to 1,000 meters above sea level, while Indonesian coffee grows at higher elevations between 1 ,300 and 1,600 meters above sea level. The combination of these two origins gives the blend a fuller body, pronounced sweetness, and a more complex, spicy, nutty character. Falcon Coffee handles the import of both components.

The blend includes the Catuai, Acaia, Tim Tim, and Bourbon varieties and combines two different processing methods. The Brazilian component is processed using the dry ( or natural) method, in which the whole coffee cherries are dried along with their skin and pulp. The Indonesian portion uses the traditional wet-hulled method, also known as wet hulling. In this process, the parchment layer is removed while the bean still contains more moisture than in standard washed processing, and the coffee is then dried further. This method is typical primarily of Indonesia and often results in a fuller body and a deeper flavor profile.
