Ethiopia Boku from BOO Coffee Roasters offers a delicate, sweet, and highly aromatic natural profile built on clean fruitiness and a light, tea-like elegance. Peach brings the sweetness of ripe fruit to the flavor profile, strawberry pleasantly brightens it, and green kiwi adds a fresh finish. The tea-like notes keep the entire cup light, so despite the natural processing, the coffee doesn’t feel heavy or overly fermented.

The coffee comes from the Hambela Wamena area in Ethiopia’s Oromia region and from the Boku farm owned by producer Esayase Beris. He originally worked at an office in Dimtu, but gradually, together with his brothers, he began trading in coffee cherries, and in 2009 he finally traded his office job for his own farm. Today, it is a family project in which his wife, Meskerem, is also heavily involved. During the harvest, she manages operations and oversees the purchase of cherries from neighboring farmers. Since 2017, Esayas has been collaborating with SNAP Specialty Coffee, which supports thousands of small-scale producers in Ethiopia.

The variety is 74158, a local Ethiopian heirloom selection prized for its distinctive aroma. The coffee is dry-processed. After being hand-picked, the cherries are carefully sorted to remove unripe or overripe fruits, and then dried whole on raised beds. They are turned regularly throughout the day to ensure even airflow and are covered overnight during the strongest sunlight. Drying at this high altitude takes approximately 7 to 10 days. The result is a light and clean natural profile in which notes of peach, strawberry, green kiwi, and sweet tea stand out beautifully.
