The Refisa station is located in the village of Refisa in the Nensebo area of West Arsi, at an altitude of around 1,900 meters above sea level. It was founded in 2014 by the family-owned company METAD, led by Aman Adinew, who continued his family's coffee tradition. Every year, over 600 small farmers bring their cherries here, their gardens stretching out in the shade of native trees. Thanks to its precise washed processing and fair approach, Refisa is one of the most respected stations in the region and a symbol of the quality and honest work of Ethiopian growers.
The coffee has undergone a unique Star Anise Infusion process – ripe cherries are sealed in airtight barrels with star anise, where they ferment in an anaerobic environment for nine days. They are then dried in the sun and slowly dried on raised beds for thirty days. The Heirloom variety is an original Ethiopian variety with thousands of genetic variations that give Ethiopian coffees their unique complexity and diversity of flavors.
