Forget about ordinary mornings—this is an espresso that will instantly get you going. The select Ethiopia Tibebu Roba coffee from the České Budějovice-based roastery Kmen Coffee Roasters delivers a cup full of energy, joy, and juicy exotic flavors. The flavor unfolds with sweet yellow peaches, ripe berries, and a distinct mango juice that gives the entire coffee a tropical freshness and liveliness. The natural processing infuses every sip with intense fruitiness and sweetness that will keep you on your toes.
Behind this profile stands the Tibebu Roba farm inthe legendary Yirgacheffe region, specifically in the Chelchele Kebele area, where coffee grows at an altitude of 1,985–2,000 meters. Here, time slows down, the cherries ripen slowly, and they develop a complexity you won’t find anywhere else. The farm was founded in 1982 and is now run by a producer who emphasizes both quality and sustainability. In 2019, he achieved significant success when his naturally processed coffee received a score of 91 points in an Ethiopian competition organized by Trabocca. Kurume and Wolisho coffee trees grow in rich reddish-brown loamy soil, free of unnecessary chemicals, using the farm’s own compost. The result is a coffee that is not only delicious but also has a story that makes sense.
Processing is done using the natural method, which gives this coffee its characteristic juiciness, sweetness, and depth. After being hand-picked, the whole coffee cherries are dried on raised African beds, where they slowly lose moisture while imparting their maximum sweetness and fruity notes to the beans. This process promotes a fuller body, a more pronounced aroma, and very subtle fermented nuances that make every cup more interesting.
