A sweet and creamy peach dessert right in your cup? Costa Rica Don Alexis from Brno-based Rebelbean is a coffee for anyone who loves sweet and creamy cups but doesn’t want to miss out on that fresh, fruity sparkle. When brewed as a pour-over, notes of peach, sugar melon, and persimmon unfold, complemented by a subtle nutty aftertaste reminiscent of pine nuts. In an espresso, the fruit notes shift toward nectarines, the sweetness evokes caramel, and the finish adds a hint of dark chocolate. The result is a juicy and sweet Costa Rican coffee with a light hint of white tea and a pleasantly creamy body.
Behind this coffee is the Ramirez-Navarro family and their Los Campos farm in the Los Santos region of Costa Rica , in Tablón del Guarco. Its story is linked to Alexis Ramirez, whose work the family continues today. Since 2015, they have operated their own Los Campos micromill, allowing them to oversee the processing of the harvest on-site. The coffee trees here grow at an elevation of around 1,750 meters, and this particular lot consists of the Centroamericano variety, a modern F1 hybrid created by crossing Sudan Rume and T5296. This variety is characterized by its high quality potential.
The harvested beans undergo honey processing at the family-run Los Campos micromill. It is precisely the combination of the Centroamericano variety, high-altitude conditions, and meticulous processing that gives the resulting cup its clean, sweet, and layered character. Rebelbean roasts this coffee as an omni roast, so you don’t have to face the filter vs. espresso dilemma. You can enjoy Don Alexis both ways, and each time you’ll bring out a slightly different facet of its fruity sweetness.
