This coffee from Nordbeans is the very embodiment of why natural Ethiopian coffee has won the hearts of specialty coffee lovers around the world. Keramo is juicy, sweet, and incredibly aromatic—in the cup, you’ll find notes of apricot, mango, and black tea, which come together to create a complex and harmonious flavor profile. Its light, tea-like body and delicate floral aroma make this coffee the ideal choice for pour-over brewing, whether you prefer a V60, Chemex, or batch brew. Year after year, this coffee ranks among the best the Ethiopian harvest has to offer. Once you taste it, you’ll understand why.
Keramo is part of the Dukamo family, which brings together smallholder farmers from the Bensa region of Sidama. Coffee trees here grow at altitudes of up to 2 ,300 meters above sea level—an extreme elevation even by Ethiopian standards. At this altitude, the coffee ripens slowly, giving it intense sweetness and pronounced acidity. Local growers hand-pick only perfectly ripe cherries, which are then sent to the Keramo processing station. The station focuses on precise sorting and quality control to ensure that each batch has a consistent and clean flavor profile.
Processing is done using the natural method, which means that after harvesting, the whole cherries are dried on African drying beds for 14 to 20 days. Careful turning during drying prevents unwanted fermentation notes, and the resulting coffee retains bright fruity flavors and sweetness. Natural processing highlights the exotic and juicy character of this Ethiopian coffee and brings out its floral and fruity notes, which will literally captivate you. Keramo is simply a coffee you won’t forget.
