Diima Chelchele #8 is a naturally processed coffee from the Gedeb region of Ethiopia, roasted by the Czech roastery Candycane Coffee. In the cup, it captivates primarily with its juiciness and fruity sweetness. Notes of pink grapefruit, pomegranate, and plums dominate, complemented by subtle stone fruit. The aftertaste gradually reveals elegant nuances of herbal tea and cocoa, which lend the coffee a pleasant depth and balance. The overall profile is clean, lively, and exceptionally harmonious.

The Chelchele processing station is located in Ethiopia’s Gedeb region, one of the most renowned areas for coffee cultivation. The cherries come from local smallholder farmers and ripen at an elevation of 1,900 to 2,100 meters, where cool nights and rich soil foster the development of complex and intense flavors. The processing is carried out by the Tadesse Desta Business Group, which prepares the coffee at the Chelchele station and focuses on quality and sustainable farming practices. The result is a coffee with a cupping score of 88 points and the characteristic profile of the finest Ethiopian natural lots.

After harvest, the cherries undergo natural processing, during which the whole fruits are dried along with their pulp. During drying, the beans are regularly inspected to maintain their purity and prevent unwanted fermentation. The sugars and aromatic compounds from the cherry pulp gradually influence the bean itself, enhancing the distinct sweetness and fruitiness of the final cup.
