Brazil CANDYBAR from Candycane Coffee is exactly the kind of espresso that focuses primarily on sweetness, body, and a smooth drinking experience without unnecessary acidity. The cup reveals notes of yellow fruit, caramel, and milk chocolate, complemented by a subtle nuttiness reminiscent of roasted pecans. The overall profile is round, sweet, and balanced, with minimal bitterness and a pleasantly long finish. The coffee works well on its own as an espresso, but it really shines in a cappuccino or flat white, where its chocolatey-caramel character comes through beautifully.
Behind this coffee is Luzia Collective, a project by a group of female farmers from Brazil’s Sul de Minas region who are part of the Cooxupé cooperative. Four farms contribute to the shared lot , ranging from small family farms to Fazenda Monte Alto, which boasts nine generations of coffee growers. The project’s goal is to highlight the important role of women in specialty coffee production while maintaining high quality and consistency across harvests over the long term. Thanks to this, CANDYBAR offers a very stable and easy-to-drink profile, whether you prepare it as a straight espresso or a milk-based drink.
The coffee was processed using the natural method, in which the coffee cherries are dried whole, including the pulp. During drying, the beans have more time to absorb the sweetness from the fruit, which is then reflected in the final flavor. It is precisely this natural processing that is responsible for the coffee’s fuller body, more pronounced sweetness, and delicate, dessert-like character. The result is an espresso that tastes sweet, round, and pleasantfor everyday enjoyment.
