liked it better using slightly lower temp and coarser grind

I was drawn in by the promised flavor profile and the beautiful packaging
Disappointing; the flavor is ordinary to below average, with bitter notes dominating

As much as I like James Hoffmann and his work on coffee, this book was actually a bit of a letdown for me. I could only recommend it to someone who knows absolutely nothing about coffee. I had expected him to delve into the topics in depth at least occasionally, but he didn’t. The book is very general.

Pretty good for cold brew
Coarse grinding brings out the subtle sweetness inherent in the beans
Absolutely terrible compared to any other "warm" method
A dry and bland taste, whether brewed in a V60, Mugen, or AeroPress. I then did a cupping and found that this is the characteristic flavor of this coffee (batch roasted on April 8, 2026, opened on April 22, 2026).

An interesting flavor profile, with a slight hint of cola and banana, but only when the coffee was freshly opened; after a few days, it wasn't as noticeable anymore.
In “my” package, I found a strange mix of beans roasted to varying degrees (from light to very dark) and of varying quality (from nice, firm beans to strange, literal scraps or fragments of beans!).
Since I got the coffee on sale, I guess it’s okay. But I definitely wouldn’t buy it again at full price. There are better coffees out there for less money.
Recipe
Brew method: V60
Coffee (g): 25
Water (g): 450
Water temperature: 85–95°C (90°C worked best for me)
Grinder (setting): coarser grind than usual for a filter (otherwise the coffee tastes slightly bitter)
Timing: 30–45–45

I like experimental coffees, especially those with lychee and rose notes, so this wasn’t an impulse buy. But this one goes too far—the rose scent is as overwhelming as sticking your nose too close to a perfume bottle. It dominates everything, to the point where it stops feeling like “real food” and starts feeling… artificial. That’s the main issue. It doesn’t taste like something you naturally want to drink. To be fair, I did find one way to make it work: heavily diluted over ice, it turns into a surprisingly drinkable iced coffee.

Nice fruity acidity
It smells really bad, and for a long time
There's a pretty narrow range where it tastes good

It's still okay for a fully automatic machine
You can smell the almond cookies, but they're a little burnt
I tried various methods of preparation, but none of them worked
It seems a bit too strong for a filter or French press
It always clogged the filter, even though I set the grind to be much coarser than usual
even after an extremely coarse grind for a French press, a large amount of fine particles
When you add milk, it's inedible

Dimensions (suitable for Profitec GO)
Switching between modes is complicated (switching from standard to ESP mode requires 5 clicks). Plus, sometimes it doesn't respond to touch, so I have to keep clicking my way to the desired mode (which is really annoying)
The readings are fluctuating, even though there is no objective reason for it
In other words, the same drawbacks as in the review by Mr. Řehák below

Less pronounced
A tougher brew—I couldn't get a good flavor out of it. The coffee was well-rested, 30 days or more. I tried different temperatures and grind sizes, the ones that usually work :(

I think I've reached my limit here. As a coffee lover who absolutely refuses to become a "coffee snob"—because I'll never go so far as to measure the water temperature, for example—I probably couldn't get the best out of these beans. So, for me, it's just average.
