Kenya Nyieri AB from Mia Coffee is a juicy and light filter coffee, exactly as is typical for Kenya. The cup features notes of currant, lime, and panela, so expect a fresh citrus note, a subtly tart fruitiness, and a sweet, rounder finish. The lime adds a spark to the coffee, the currant gives it a juicier and slightly playful character, while the panela softens the entire profile and leaves a pleasantly sweet aftertaste.

Nyeri Hill Farm is located in Kenya’s Nyeri region, at the foot of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains. Covering more than 1,400 hectares, the farm is one of the oldest coffee plantations in East Africa—the first coffee trees were planted here as early as 1914. To this day, it is owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, and proceeds from coffee sales have long supported schools, seminaries, and the local hospital. Thanks to volcanic soils, high elevation, and a cooler climate, the Nyeri region produces some of Kenya’s most distinctive coffees. The farm emphasizes sustainable farming practices, biodiversity conservation, and careful stewardship of the landscape. Coffee trees grow in the shade of native trees, and the surrounding vegetation helps protect the soil from erosion.

The cherries are processed using the washed method. After harvest, only perfectly ripe cherries are immediately pulped, fermented, washed with clean water, and then dried on African drying beds. Traditional washed processing highlights the clarity of the cup, its fresh acidity, and natural sweetness. The result is a juicy and elegant filter coffee with notes of currant, lime, and panela.
