The coffee comes from Mohamed Ali's family farm in the Jimma region of southern Ethiopia. It was here that they established a direct partnership with The Barn in 2018, at a time when new laws finally allowed smaller farmers to export coffee without middlemen. Mohamed's son Mustafa seized the opportunity and established an exclusive partnership with this renowned European roaster.
The coffee trees grow at an altitude of 2,050 meters above sea level in the middle of an untouched forest. The natural environment, full of bees, fruit trees, and shade, contributes to biodiversity and soil health. Processing is done using the dry method (natural), which emphasizes fruity notes. The result is delicate layers of nectarine and jasmine in a clean and elegant cup.
How to prepare the perfect cup
Simply open the drip bag, hang it on the rim of the cup, pour 200 ml of hot water (ideally around 92–95 °C) slowly and evenly directly onto the coffee. Let the coffee steep for about 4–5 minutes to release all the delicate aromas and notes. Then remove the bag, stir the coffee, and enjoy a perfect cup full of peach, bergamot, and citrus flavors—ideal for any moment when you want quality without complications.
