Join us on a journey to the mountains of southern Gedeb, where coffee with a unique character is grown at an altitude of over 2,300 meters above sea level. Oh My Bean Coffee brings Ethiopia's CHELBESSA to you – a naturally processed Arabica that offers a syrupy, smooth body, the sweetness of cane sugar, and juicy notes of peaches, apricots, and plums. The finish is complemented by a delicate floral note and balanced acidity, which makes this coffee shine especially in filters, whether you prepare it in a V60, Aeropress, or as a smoother espresso.
Behind this coffee is producer Neguesse Debela, founder of SNAP Coffee, who has been building processing stations and relationships with farmers since 2017. The Chelbessa station, like its "sister" Chelbessa 2, functions not only as a processing facility but also as a center for education and support. Farmers from the surrounding hills often walk for hours to bring their cherries here so they can benefit from modern practices and fair prices. Neguesse also pays close attention to careful harvesting, training, and transparency, making Chelbessa one of the most interesting places in the Yirgacheffe region.
The coffee is processed using the natural method, which brings out its sweetness and fruitiness. After harvesting, the cherries are sorted by hand to remove any defective ones and then spread out on raised African beds. Here they are dried in the sun for 14 days, regularly turned and checked to ensure that the process is even. Thanks to the region's specific microclimate, the flavor combines intense fruitiness with purity and delicate floral notes – exactly what makes Ethiopian coffees so unforgettable.
