Peach, honey, and dried fruit give this coffee from El Salvador by Mia Coffee Roastery a sweet and fruity character that is pleasantly pronounced yet well-balanced. The juicier notes of peach are complemented by the honeyed sweetness and the riper flavor of dried fruit. Los Angeles is a Pacamara coffee designed for pour-over brewing, and in this package, you’ll find it in the form of Brew Bags. Each bag contains 12 g of ground coffee, so you can easily brew pour-over coffee even without a dripper or other equipment. The package contains a total of seven bags.
The coffee comes from the Los Naranjos farm in the Ahuachapán region of El Salvador. The farm covers an area of 14 hectares and, in addition to Pacamara, also grows Bourbon, Geisha, Pacas, and Catimor varieties. The coffee trees grow in the shade of scattered trees, which help create a suitable microclimate. The farm adheres to the principles of sustainable and regenerative agriculture (RENACER) and regularly monitors soil health through soil analysis. Harvesting is done by hand and selectively to ensure that only ripe coffee cherries are processed.
This lot is processed using the dry method, in which the coffee beans are dried inside the whole cherries. After harvest, the cherries are carefully sorted and then processed at the Beneficio San Rafael mill at an elevation of 1,450 meters. Drying is carried out under controlled humidity conditions to ensure the most even drying possible.
Preparing the Brew Bag is simple. Pour 180 ml of water at 95 °C over the bag, submerge it in the water several times for 20 to 30 seconds, and then let it steep for about 5 minutes.
