You will remember this Geisha from The Naughty Dog roastery long after you have finished your last sip. The taste is beautifully sweet, elegant, and lively thanks to its pleasantly higher acidity. Right at the beginning, you will taste juicy strawberries, complemented by fresh, sweet lemon reminiscent of lemon zest rather than sharp acidity. As the coffee cools, the profile continues to open up, bringing to the fore a delicate, tea-like aftertaste reminiscent of black tea. The whole taste experience is then rounded off by the creamy sweetness of nougat pralines, which give the cup a smoothness and a long, pleasantly sweet finish. It is a very clean, layered, and balanced coffee that beautifully showcases the typical character of the Geisha variety on the filter. The fresh harvest from June 2025 guarantees a distinctive aroma and maximum freshness.
It comes from the Huila region, specifically the Tello area, which is known for its diverse landscape and ideal conditions for growing specialty coffee. Finca El Mirador is located at an altitude of around 1, 700 meters above sea level, where the cooler climate and slower ripening of the cherries contribute to the development of complex flavors. The farm is run by Robinson Vera, a farmer who prides himself on quality, careful harvesting, and a sensitive approach to each harvest. The Geisha variety is difficult to grow, but in these conditions it can show its typical elegance, floral notes, and delicacy. El Mirador is proof that Colombia definitely has something to offer Geisha and that even outside Panama, top-quality lots with distinctive character are being produced.
This coffee is dry-processed, i.e., natural, which significantly contributes to its sweetness and rich aromatic profile. After harvesting, the whole coffee cherries are dried with the pulp, thanks to which the sugars and fruity tones are naturally transferred to the bean. The process requires careful control and patience, as any mistake can affect the final taste, but in this case, it was a great success. The natural processing enhances the fruitiness, increases the sweetness, and adds a delicate creaminess to the coffee without suppressing the typical purity of Geisha. The result is an elegant yet distinctive coffee that shines on the filter and will delight anyone who likes sweet, fruity, and slightly tea-like profiles.
