Behind this exceptional coffee is the Sambewe processing station, located in the heart of the MbeyaMountains .This region is renowned for its mineral-rich volcanic soil, ideal microclimate, and a tradition of precision coffee production that has been passed down from generation to generation. Sambewe works with more than 400 small farmers associated with the AMCOS cooperative, who hand-pick the cherries and bring them in for processing. This system promotes sustainability, ethical work practices, and quality cultivation, while helping local communities develop their production and living conditions.
The coffee was processed using the natural method, where the cherries were dried whole for 21 days on African beds after harvesting. This careful process preserves the natural fruit aromas, enhances the sweetness, and complements the complex flavor profile. The lot is composed of the N39 and KP423 varieties and grown at an altitude of 1,616 meters above sea level, which, together with the microclimate of the Mbeya region, creates a clean, fruity, and balanced cup with a cupping score of 87 points.
