LIQĀ’ is an espresso blend from the Czech roastery Tribes of Mokha, which brings together Brazil, Ethiopia, and Yemen into a single harmonious experience. The name Liqā’ itself means “meeting” in Arabic, and that is exactly what this blend represents: a meeting of three coffee cultures, different terroirs, and the people behind each bean. In a carefully prepared cup, notes of dried plums, dark chocolate, and roasted almonds unfold. Its full body is accompanied by a pleasant sweetness, subtle spicy nuances, and a long, velvety aftertaste, making this blend a delight to enjoy primarily as an espresso, though it also excels in milk-based drinks.

LIQĀ’ draws inspiration from Yemen, a country that played a pivotal role in the history of coffee and helped transform coffee drinking from a ceremonial tradition into an everyday ritual. Each of the three coffees used brings its own character to the blend. Brazil adds body, nutty notes, and a pleasant chocolatey sweetness. Ethiopia contributes a delicate floral aroma and fruity notes reminiscent of dried fruit. Yemen ties everything together with its natural sweetness, a hint of spice, and a depth that gives the entire blend its unmistakable character. The result is a balanced combination in which the individual components do not compete but complement one another.

All three coffees were processed using the natural method. After harvest, the whole coffee cherries are slowly dried in the sun, with the pulp remaining in contact with the bean throughout the process. During this process, more natural sugars and aromatic compounds are gradually transferred into the coffee. After drying, the dried pulp and parchment layer are removed in a dry mill, and the beans are carefully sorted. Natural processing gives the resulting cup a fuller body, more pronounced sweetness, and a more intense fruity character.
