PAMPOJILÁ NATURAL FRESH CROP from The Naughty Dog roastery is a fresh harvest from April 2026. In the cup, you’ll taste a rather surprising combination of flavors. It’s a sweet coffee, but it also has a higher, lively acidity. You’ll detect notes of lemon cheesecake, cranberries, and a hint of Nutella on the finish. It sounds like a dessert menu—and that’s exactly what it tastes like. This almost mischievous combination is a perfect fit for a roastery named after two naughty dachshunds.
PAMPOJILÁ comes from the Pampojilá farm of the same name in the San Lucas Tolimán region of Guatemala, near Lake Atitlán. Coffee trees grow here at an elevation of 1, 550 meters above sea level. At this altitude, the cherries ripen more slowly, allowing them to accumulate more sugars, which translates to sweetness in the cup. Atitlán is one of Guatemala’s well-known coffee-growing regions, and the volcanic terrain surrounding the lake lends the coffee both sweetness and vibrancy.
This coffee underwent dry (natural) processing. Farmers dry the whole cherries—skin and pulp included—so the beans absorb the sweetness directly from the fruit. It is one of the oldest methods of coffee processing, and the result is a cup with a full, fruity flavor. It is precisely the natural processing that accounts for the sweetness of the cup, while a lemony freshness keeps the entire profile in balance. Cranberries add a tart, fruity note, and Nutella contributes a subtle chocolate sweetness that the natural processing highlights. And so, from a single harvest, this coffee tastes like dessert while remaining refreshing.
