This Ethiopian coffee from DAK is exactly the kind of coffee that will delight all lovers of sweet and fruity shots. In the cup, the juiciness of blackberries meets the sweetness of ripe cherries and a richer note of dates, which gives the entire coffee a pleasantly syrupy body. The result is an espresso with a distinctive fruity character, a fuller sweetness, and a subtle jam-like quality that works beautifully both on its own and in milk-based drinks. If you enjoy a more modern espresso that isn’t just chocolatey and nutty, Surf Jam will delight you from the very first sip.

The coffee comes from the Gedeb region, which is known for its high-altitude coffee-growing areas and very clean, fruity profile. The Heirloom variety beans are grown by small-scale farmers who deliver their harvest to the Chelchele station. It is precisely the combination of its Ethiopian origin, an altitude of around 2,100 meters above sea level, and local traditional varieties that gives this coffee its distinctive sweetness, aroma, and juiciness. In the flavor, you’ll find not only rich fruity notes but also a pleasant depth that lends the espresso a rounder character.

The coffee was processed using the natural method, in which the coffee cherries are dried whole, along with their pulp. This results in a flavor profile with greater fruity sweetness, body, and intensity. In this coffee, the natural process manifests as a juicy, jam-like profile and a sweet finish, without ever feeling heavy or off-flavored. Surf Jam is an espresso for those moments when you want something more distinctive, playful, and fruity in your cup—yet still beautifully sweet and balanced.
