Ethiopia Negele Gorbitu Christmas Special from MIA Coffee is a coffee that demands attention from the very first sip. In the cup, it develops a delicate texture and rich sweetness, balanced by a lively, juicy acidity. The flavor profile opens with notes of tropical fruit, followed by juicy apple and a light touch of spice, which adds depth and elegance to the whole composition. The result is a harmonious cup that combines complexity with delicacy and accessibility—ideal for festive moments and everyday enjoyment.
This limited edition comes from the Gedeo region of Ethiopia, specifically from the Negele Gorbitu kebele, where coffee is grown at an altitude of around 2,000 meters above sea level. Local farmers carefully cultivate the Kurume, Dega, and Wolisho varieties here in the shade of tall trees. The combination of traditional cultivation methods and the expertise of the MIA Coffee roastery creates a coffee that reflects the authenticity of the Ethiopian terroir and the distinctive style of the roasters. We recommend preparing it as a filter coffee to bring out its fruity and aromatic tones, or as a lighter, elegant espresso.
The beans underwent anaerobic natural processing—the ripe cherries fermented for several days without oxygen and were then dried on raised African beds. This process enhanced the natural sweetness and purity of the flavor, giving the coffee an intense fruitiness and a delicate fermentation character. The result is a coffee with a unique personality – balanced, fragrant, and full of details that make it a true Christmas experience.
