Juicy, clean, and fruity—that's Ethiopia Furla, a selection from the Polish roaster Paloma Coffee Roastery. The cup is dominated by fresh and delicate fruity notes reminiscent of chamomile, bergamot, jasmine and fresh apple, complemented by a light sweetness and pleasant acidity. The result is an elegant and well-balanced profile that is ideal for espresso.
The coffee comes from the Sidamo region of Ethiopia, one of the most prized areas of origin for Arabica in the world, where the Heirloom variety is grown—a traditional local genetic group typical of Ethiopian countries of origin with extraordinary aromatic complexity. It is here that the mineral-rich volcanic soil provides coffee trees with ideal conditions for drawing nutrients, which is then reflected in the depth of the resulting flavor. This area lies at an altitude of approximately 1,500–1,800 meters above sea level, which, thanks to cooler nights and sunny days, allows the cherries to ripen slowly and develop intense aromas. Ethiopia is considered the birthplace of coffee, and its beans often offer a character you won't find anywhere else — fresh, layered, and full of nuance.
Furla is processed using a washed method that maintains the purity and sparkle of the fruity tones while enhancing the body structure and bright acidity of the resulting cup. The process involves careful sorting, fermentation, and drying on African beds, which preserves the purity of the profile without unnecessary "fermentation" transitions. The result is a cup with a fruity center, light sweetness, and a pleasant aroma that beautifully represents the profile of coffee from the Sidamo region—authentic, pure, and with a clearly defined character.
