You won’t believe you’re drinking coffee and not a delicious strawberry milkshake. HAYB’s Chillwave Strawberry Blend comes dangerously close. In the cup, bold strawberry, juicy orange, and sweet toffee come together, resulting in a profile that’s fruity, smooth, and pleasantly candy-like. This isn’t some unassuming everyday classic, but a playful little coffee that you’ll enjoy most when you’re in the mood for something sweet, refreshing, and a little off-the-wall. And it’s precisely thanks to this combination that this blend earned an 88-point score in cupping.

Inside the package, you’ll find two Colombian coffees. It’s a blend of Colombia Condor Washed and Castillo Natural Strawberry Co-Fermented, pairing a cleaner, classic profile with a much more pronounced fruity element. The beans come from the Quindío and Tolima regions, where they grow at an elevation of approximately 2 ,000 to 2,100 meters above sea level. The blend consists of the Castillo and Caturra varieties—a combination of typical Colombian varieties. Chillwave is also part of the seasonal HAYB line, designed for light summer sipping, and works wonderfully as a classic drip, in an AeroPress, or as a cold brew.

It is the processing method that gives the entire blend its distinctive character. Colombia Condor undergoes classic washed processing, which brings clarity, lightness, and a pleasant freshness to the cup. The second component is Colombia Castillo Natural Strawberry Co-Fermented—a naturally processed coffee with strawberry co-fermentation—which, in contrast, adds intense fruitiness and a sweeter, more playful profile. The combination of these two coffees creates a juicy and distinctly fruity filter coffee, in which strawberry plays the leading role, complemented by citrusy freshness and caramel sweetness.
