Square Mile Roasters brings you Honduras, roasted for espresso, which will delight anyone who enjoys a combination of sweetness and juiciness. The cup reveals a harmonious profile with notes of cranberries, almonds, and chocolate ganache, which is balanced, full-bodied, and yet fresh. The espresso has a medium body, delicate acidity, and velvety texture, making it great on its own or in milk drinks, where its fruity sweetness and chocolate smoothness really shine. This coffee shows Honduras at its best—accessible, modern, and rich in flavor.
Behind this lot is Renato Sánchez, who built the La Cidra farm literally from scratch. Thanks to the work of the whole family, a single hectare of plantation has become a thriving farm, which is now also run by his son Rafael. The farm is located in an area where it is a common challenge to secure enough workers during the harvest, so Renato plans to build raised drying beds to improve the quality and stability of the final coffee. The family also takes care of the soil – they use their own fertilizer mixtures and a customized pruning system that results in healthier trees and higher yields. La Cidra is an example of a farm that combines a traditional approach with modern innovations and a clear vision for the future.
The coffee is processed using the washed method, which emphasizes its purity and bright tones. Ripe cherries are carefully selected, hulled, and fermented in water to remove all pulp. Subsequent washing and drying ensures stability and a clean flavor profile. Thanks to the washed process, the espresso stands out with the juiciness of mandarin, the delicate fruity freshness of blueberries, and the creamy sweetness of milk chocolate. The result is a cup that combines classic elegance with a modern, fruity character—the ideal espresso for everyday enjoyment and special moments.
