Pair the sweet raisins with a piece of milk chocolate and a sip of black tea. That’s exactly the combination you’ll find in the Honduras CABALLERO LAS LOMAS from Candycane Coffee. The fruity sweetness is complemented by notes of red fruit jam and dried stone fruits, while the tea-like finish brings a subtle herbal touch. The coffee has a clean and balanced profile, with a pleasant transition from sweet fruit to chocolate and tea. It’s perfect for moments when you expect distinct flavors from a pour-over but also enjoy discovering subtle nuances in every sip.
The beans come from the Marcala region of Honduras, where Marysabel Caballero and Moises Herrera farm nearly 200 hectares spread across 17 farms. This lot was grown at an elevation of approximately 1 ,600 meters above sea level. The family has long invested in equipment, planting new varieties, improving the soil, and supporting biodiversity. Thus, their care for the farms extends not only to the coffee trees themselves but also to the environment in which they grow. They have a long-standing partnership with Candycane, and Nordic Approach has been purchasing coffee from them since 2012.
The lot from the 2026 harvest consists of the Catuai variety processed using the washed method. The Caballero family’s farms are located near their own Xinacla processing station, which is part of the infrastructure supporting the entire production process. The family carefully documents each step of production and continuously invests in technical equipment. In addition to their work on the farms, they also pay close attention to the conditions for coffee processing. Long-term care and production records help maintain consistent quality across harvests.
