Sweet as honey, sparkling like lime, and fragrant like a cup of jasmine tea. Ethiopian Raro Nansebo coffee is a filter that will transport you to heights above 1,900 meters above sea level, where fruits with a unique flavor profile are born. In the cup, you will find pure fruitiness, floral elegance, and fresh acidity reminiscent of citrus, tea, and honey. The coffee is roasted for filter methods —whether you choose V60, Aeropress, Chemex, or French press, you will be rewarded with a complex and lively flavor that you will love from the very first sip.
Behind the coffee is Ture Waji, founder of Sookoo Coffee, who after his studies built his own brand based on quality, sustainability, and transparency. The cherries come from small farmers in the Uraga area of the Guji region, who grow coffee traditionally, often without chemicals and in harmony with nature. The coffee trees grow in small gardens, shaded by other crops, and benefit from an ideal microclimate – warm days, cool nights, and abundant rainfall. Sookoo also helps farmers financially, providing pre-harvest loans and supporting local education. It is no coincidence that "Sookoo" means gold in Amharic – this coffee embodies just that much care and value.
Processing is done using the natural method. After being harvested by hand, the whole cherries are dried on African beds for several weeks. They are carefully turned every day to prevent mold and ensure even ripening. This way, the beans retain maximum sweetness, fruitiness, and juiciness. The result is a coffee with a distinctive, layered flavor profile that blends fruitiness and fermented sweetness—an experience that tastes as good as it sounds.
