Some coffees are like a mini trip – and this one will take you straight to the heart of Ecuador. Hacienda María Teresa is like a dessert in liquid form – juicy, fruity, and irresistibly sweet. The initial notes of blueberries dance across your tongue, dried plums add depth, and the whole experience is rounded off with a caramel brownie flavor that lingers beautifully on the palate. This coffee is a rich and satisfying experience, ideal for a slow weekend morning or when you want to switch off and treat yourself to something special.
Hacienda María Teresa is located in the rugged landscape of San Pedro de la Bendita in the Loja region, at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level. Coffee has been grown here for almost 90 years, originally for local consumption. Today, the farm focuses on natural and washed processing and cultivation in harmony with nature. This is aided by two natural springs, the shade of endemic trees, and a clever drip irrigation system that ensures the cherries ripen well. The soil is cared for using purely organic methods—no chemicals or unnecessary interventions.
Natural processing gives the coffee an intense flavor profile full of sweetness and fruitiness. Ripe cherries are dried whole, directly in the sun, which allows the beans to retain maximum flavor and aroma. The result is a cup that will captivate you from the first sip – sweet, rich, yet natural and balanced. No aftertaste, no wildness – just beautifully processed coffee from a place that takes selection seriously.
