Industra Coffee brings another successful product from the southern part of the Colombian department of Huila, Remolinos. A pure and juicy Pink Bourbon that will brighten up your day with its combination of red orange, lime zest, and sweet marzipan. The cup is distinctive, fruity, and beautifully balanced, with a delicate sweetness that lingers pleasantly on the palate. Espresso from this lot is fresh, has a slightly creamy body, and holds up well both on its own and in smaller milk drinks.
The coffee comes from small farmers in the Pitalito and San Agustín areas, where Pink Bourbon has taken root as one of the most interesting varieties today. Southern Huila is one of the places where this cultivar has established itself most quickly, not only because of its higher resistance to rust, but also because of the quality of the cup, which often surpasses traditional Caturra and commonly grown Colombian hybrids. Farms here are usually only a few hectares in size, which means careful work with each harvest and excellent quality control. Remolinos thus represents the typical, clearly defined profile of Pink Bourbon from this area: juicy, sweet, and very clean.
The beans are processed using the washed method, which allows the natural fruitiness and fresh acidity of the variety to fully shine through. Rapid sorting, selective harvesting, and controlled fermentation, combined with an altitude of around 1,800 meters, result in beans with high density and a clear flavor. Pink Bourbon also has slightly heavier parchment and produces more peaberries, which reduces the yield but further emphasizes the quality of the lot itself. The result is an espresso that is elegant, energetic, and ideal for anyone who wants to taste what makes Pink Bourbon so popular.
