Colombia Fellow Farms Gesha ( Competition) from Nomad Coffee is a competition lot characterized by maximum elegance and precision. In the cup, notes of rose, lychee, and candied orange unfold, complemented by subtle hints of cocoa powder, syrup, and green grapes. The profile is exceptionally complex yet remarkably clean. Floral aromas intertwine with tropical acidity and honeyed sweetness, while the creamy body lends the cup smoothness and depth. The aftertaste is long, delicate, and leaves a distinct impression of rose petals.
The coffee comes from the Fellow Farms project, which since 2022 has been connecting small farmers from the Huila and Cauca regions with the La Inmaculada farm. The project’s goal is to offer producers fairer conditions, more transparent trade, and support in education and production quality. The collaboration also includes the AMCAPEC organization, which brings together women farmers from the Cauca region. All lots are subsequently processed at the La Inmaculada farm, ensuring high consistency, detailed process control, and full traceability of each lot. The Gesha variety grows here at an altitude of 1,700–2,000 meters above sea level, where slower ripening enhances the aromatic complexity and elegance of the cup.
Processing is carried out using the washed method with an emphasis on maximum quality selection. After the cherries are delivered from partner farms, flotation follows, during which light and defective fruits, leaves, or small stones are removed. The coffee then undergoes electronic sorting by ripeness and is subsequently hand-selected. The best cherries are hulled, washed, and dried under controlled conditions for approximately 15 days until they reach an ideal moisture content of around 10.5%. The result is an exceptionally clean and elegant competition cup that perfectly showcases the potential of the Gesha variety and the precise work of the entire Fellow Farms project.
