The limited edition Uganda Namutebi from BirdSong Coffee is a coffee that embodies the essence of winter comfort, sweetness, and gentle warmth. Thanks to the honey processing, it has a distinctive but beautifully smooth taste reminiscent of a festive dessert in a single cup. The aroma and flavor feature hazelnuts, dried apricots, and a subtle citrus note of bergamot, which brightens the coffee and gives it an elegant freshness. The aftertaste is sweet and buttery, like freshly baked cookies, making this Ugandan coffee the perfect choice for winter mornings, Advent moments, and as an original gift.

This nanolot from eastern Uganda comes from the slopes near Mount Elgon National Park, where coffee is grown at an altitude of up to 2,200 meters above sea level. The terrain does not allow for mechanization, so farmers carry all the cherries by hand, which guarantees maximum care for each bean. The Nyasaland, SL14, and SL28 varieties create an exceptional profile full of purity, sweetness, and bright fruitiness. The project is backed by The Coffee Gardens, a long-term partner of BirdSong Coffee, whose initiative is based on close cooperation with farmers, transparency, ethical work, and environmentally friendly practices. Dana, co-founder of BirdSong Coffee, also plays an important role in helping to develop the entire project.

The magic of the honey method lies in leaving a layer of mucilage on the bean, which, during natural fermentation, gives the coffee a character between a washed and natural profile – clean, sweet, and full-bodied. Winnie Namutebi, head of the drying station, oversees the entire lot, and her team carefully sorts, dries, and prepares the coffee for export. The result is an ideal Ugandan espresso that shines in the cup with its sweetness, smoothness, and true Christmas magic.

Beautiful packaging, freshly roasted.
A little sour, not very tasty, I expected more for the price.
