Delicate, sweet, and full of character—that's STARLIGHT DECAF from Mexico, a decaffeinated coffee from the Belgian roaster Boo!. The cup combines notes of orange marmalade, crunchy almond cookies, and delicate milk chocolate, which together create a harmonious and rich flavor profile. The result is a cup with a pleasant sweetness, full body, and elegant aftertaste reminiscent of a sweet dessert – ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy a premium coffee without caffeine.

This coffee comes from the Jaltenango region of Chiapas, where a group of 65 local women producers associated with the La Tribu project grow coffee trees with the utmost respect for the soil and the community. The altitude of 1650–1800 m above sea level provides the ideal climate for the slow ripening of the cherries, which guarantees a full aromatic profile and sweetness in the cup. The Peñazco and Bourbon varieties used here are prized for their delicate fruity acidity, harmonious sweetness, and rich flavor, which stands out even after decaffeination.

The Mountain Water Decaf method preserves the natural complexity of the beans without the use of chemicals. The beans are carefully soaked and filtered to remove the caffeine while retaining the fruity, sweet, and chocolatey notes. The result is a cup that does not taste watered down, but offers a full-bodied taste experience. STARLIGHT DECAF is proof that even without caffeine, it is possible to create a coffee full of character, harmony, and delicate sweetness that will delight every lover of quality beans.

Not much of a “decaf” taste
Decent price
Very dark roasted
Too developed roast — I found myself pushing extraction lower and lower to get drinkable cups
Even then it’s not worth it I think. With the other great decafs you can buy nowadays, this doesn’t have a place for me

One of the best decafs I've ever tried. And I've tried a lot of them.

It's still okay for a fully automatic machine
You can smell the almond cookies, but they're a little burnt
I tried various methods of preparation, but none of them worked
It seems a bit too strong for a filter or French press
It always clogged the filter, even though I set the grind to be much coarser than usual
even after an extremely coarse grind for a French press, a large amount of fine particles
When you add milk, it's inedible
